Alfredo Rosado-Muñoz

Industrial IoT: How industrial processes can take advantage of recent communication technologies

Alfredo Rosado-Muñoz obtained his PhD in 2000. He is a Full Professor at the School of Engineering, Dpt. Electronic Engineering, University of Valencia (SPAIN).
He is a member of IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control). His research is related to digital computer architectures for efficient data processing and computing.
Currently, his main work is related to artificial intelligence algorithm hardware implementation, especially neural networks in different types: Feed Forward, Spiking, Convolutional, Deep Neural Networks, etc.
His research is oriented to biomedical and industrial applications, including their control systems and automation.
He has published more than 60 research papers in international scientific journals, presented more than 80 congress works and collaborated in several book chapters.
He has been on sabbatical leave in Germany, Finland, Argentina, Mexico and Brasil and participated in different research projects under regional, national and european consortia.
He has collaborated with numerous private companies for technology transfer projects related to automation, industry 4.0 and IoT.
He holds one patent, supervised 7 PhD and more than 90 Msc and BsC student final projects.
His teaching is related to digital embedded systems and automation.

 Maha Gmira

Learning Approaches in the Era of Smart Manufacturing

Maha Gmira is the head of the School of Digital Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (EIDIA), at Euromed University of Fez.
Pr. Maha Gmira holds the ICESCO-UEMF Chair “Women in Science: Artificial Intelligence and the Future” which promotes artificial intelligence among girls and women.
Maha Gmira is a graduate of Polytechnique Montreal, Canada.
She obtained a master's degree in mathematics and industrial engineering and a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence.
She completed her doctoral thesis in artificial intelligence at the University of Montreal, in one of the best laboratories in the world, IVADO.
In November 2021, the African Scientific Research and Innovation Council (ASRIC), an organ of the African Union,
awarded Pr. Maha Gmira a Flagship Project, a pilot project in Africa which focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in agriculture
to ensure food security in Africa. This project is led by Morocco, in collaboration with Rwanda, Egypt, Botswana and Nigeria.
She is a member of several prestigious institutes and research groups, recognized as world leaders in data science and artificial intelligence: Canada Excellence Chair in Data Science for Real-Time Decision-Making, IVADO, CIRRELT , GERAD, etc.

Mohamed Essaaidi is Chief of Party of Interactive Digital Center Morocco (since November 2020) and a Professor and past Dean of ENSIAS School of Computer Science of Mohammed V University, Rabat, Morocco (since 2011),
Past Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of General Affairs & Governance, Morocco (2019),
past faculty member (Professor & Assistant Professor) at the Faculty of Science of Abdelmalek Essaadi University, Tetuan, Morocco (1993-2011).
He is IEEE Global Cities Alliance, MEA Chairman (2021-2022), IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee (HAC) Assessment Committee Member (2021-2022),
IEEE EAB Teaching Excellence Editorial Hub, Member (2021-2022), and IEEE Public SafetyTechnology, Education Chair (2022).
He is the founder and past Chairman of the IEEE Morocco Section (2005-2016),
co-founder and chair of IEEE Morocco APS/MTT-S joint Chapter (2005-2010), IEEE Communications / Computer Society Chapter (2006-2008) and IEEE Education Society Morocco Chapter chair from 2007 to 2009.
